At the ongoing CES, Samsung has unveiled two new laptops – a 15-inch and another 13.3-inch – in its Notebook 9 series for 2016. The highlight of these devices is extreme portability and lightweight.
The Notebook 9 series is aimed at professional and ultra-productive users looking for powerful devices to be used on-the-go, claims the company. Samsung also claims that the 13.3-inch Notebook 9 weighs less than 1 kg (0.84 grams), making it the world’s lightest laptop. The 15-inch model weighs 1.29kgs.
Both feature a Full HD display with a wide angle and low-reflective screen for comfortable viewing experience from various positions, adds the company. Another highlight of the device is the extended battery life promising up to 12 hours. Then there’s the Quick Charging feature that enables users to fully charge in just 20 minutes. The 13.3-inch Notebook 9 offers up to 10 hours of battery life with a single charge.
Both run Windows 10, and come powered by processors up to Intel Core i7 with 4GB/8GB LPDDR3RAM onboard. The storage options include 128GB/256GB SSD.
Samsung has also included a new security feature called Security CAM that allows users to take and send photos using the camera to a pre-registered email in case of theft. The pattern log-in, secret screen, and record block features help to protect private files and information. There’s Samsung Link 2.0 and SideSync 4.0 that let users access shareable content more easily and efficiently. The keyboard is certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) for added comfort and accuracy.
The new devices in the Notebook 9 series will be available in Iron silver and Modern pink colours in select markets starting early 2016.
